Bellinzona and Venezia with the Bells

March 19 was a big day ... San Giuseppe (father's day in Ticino), Cyndi's birthday, and the arrival of Milly and Arlie. Cyndi took the shuttle to Malpensa to meet them, and it's a good thing, because their flight was just late enough that they would have been unlikely to catch their scheduled shuttle to Lugano without Cyndi being right there to show them the way.

The next day, Cyndi and Adrian went with them to Bellinzona.

Friday morning early we hopped the train for Venezia.
We arrived Venezia before noon and spent two nights in a small hotel, with three rooms and a shared bathroom.

Piazza San Marco was crammed, and the lines to get into the church or the Doges palace were incredibly long, but we enjoyed other parts of Venice, including several visits to the area of Piazza San Barbara, near Ca' Rezzonico, where we ate most of our meals (including some good middle eastern food, barely passable pizza, mediocre pasta, and good gelato).

Sunday afternoon we returned to Lugano by train.
