Overall the journey started Tuesday evening and finished Thursday evening:
6pm Tuesday - Leave Eugene, spend night in Portland
8am Wednesday - Checked in at PDX
noon Wednesday - fly to Minneapolis
9pm Wednesday - fly Minneapolis to Amsterdam
12:40pm Thursday - arrive Amsterdam; 2 hour connection + half hour delay
4:45pm Thursday - arrive Malpensa
6pm Thursday - catch (small) bus to Lugano
8:30pm Thursday - arrive Lugano. Mauro manages the amazing trick of moving all bags (a lot) and people from station to apartment in just two trips.
Things went basically according to plan, except for the delay in Amsterdam, which didn't quite cause us to miss our bus from Malpensa to Lugano.
