Driving to Canzo

No cycling this weekend ... although the predicted rain today was actually over in early morning. Tomorrow we will drive to Canzo, near Como, Italy to visit Mauro's family. No big deal? But actually, it is for me. It will be the first time ever that I have driven when outside the U.S.  Even when I lived abroad before, I used only public transportation and walking (which meant a commute of about 45 minutes each way in Padova). I just don't belong to the 80% of Americans who consider themselves above-average drivers, and I am anyway predisposed to other forms of transportation even at home. So, the drive tomorrow will be a first, even if (as I certainly hope) it is uneventful.
